It was resolved to take into consideration the acquiring of the present Bluff cool stores, or erection of stores to bo owned hv factories, in order that produce shall remain under control of tht Association up till the time of shipment. COMMITTED FOR TRIAL. 1 • TIMARU, June 2. j At the Magistrate’s Court, William Jones, a ship’s steward, was charged with shooting with intent John Stapleton, at Timarii on May 27th, and was committed for trial. On a charge of having unlawful possession of an automatic pistol, lie was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence when called upon. The weapon was forfeited. DESPERATE BURGLARS. WANGANUI, June 2. At the Supreme Court, Allen and Donovan, for burglary, were sentenced to ten years’ imprisonment, to he followed by live years’ detention for reformative treatment. The Judge said the greatest credit was due to the brave constables (R. Wilson and O’Donoghue) who successfully arrested the*prisoners. Thompson Bros had also displayed commendable pluck in assisting the police.
