The usual weekly euchre tournament was held at St Mary’s Club Rooms last evening the attendance being good. The ladies first prize, a 25 of flour was won hv Mrs J. Lynch and the second hv Miss Murphy. The gents first prize a ) hundredweight of potatoes was won l>v All- L. Kirwan, and fTie second by Mr R. Robinson. After supper dancing was indulged in, the music lining supplied by Aliss A. Reid, and the Hour being in charge of Air E. Breeze.
A working bee organised by the Beautifying Association was in evidence on Cass Square yesterday afternoon, and made a commencement with the cleaning u]i process. It was remarked that the workers adopted quite a new “stroke” and all worked very diligently. During the afternoon ATrs Butler very kindly supplied a refreshing I o’clock cup of tea for the workers. The “bee” will he continued to-morrow and Saturday. Tt is the intention of the Association to endeavour to have Cass Square in greatly improved order for the summer months.
