“RULING PASSIONS.” TO-NIGHT.
To-night a most exceptional cast is to be seen in Select pictures’ special attraction “Ruling Passions.” The featured players in this engrossing story of social problems are Julia Dean and Edward Arden. Both of these artists have achieved fame on the speaking stage, while Earl Sohenck and Claire Whitney, two other important members of the cast have appeared in a number of successful screen productions. The theme of “Ruling Passions” proves to ho a test between the passions of Hate and Revenge and Love and Mercy, in their clash for the mastery of the human heart. The story is finely pictured and developed, and makes a very pleasing and wholesome entertainment. On Thursday “The Tower of Jewels” -tarring Corinne Griffith and Maurice Costello will be star attraction for that evening. “The Tower of Jewels” is a wonderful collar of diamonds which forms the object of daring attempts at burglary or. the part of a gang of highclass crooks. As the Princess, one of the leading lights of tbe gang. Corinne Griffiths has no easy role, hut she acts with intelligent earnestness and indicates an inborn refinement and lovable personality that makes belief in her reformation an easy matter. An old favourite on tbe screen. Maurice Costello. makes a welcome reappearance in this picture; the production hns been earefullv carried out, and is most convincingly successful.

This William Fox production is the best Western picture ever scon here. He rescues a girl' from a bandit chief and after she is recaptured from him she again escapes ana reaches his mother’s home.
