FOXTON SHIPPING. WELLINGTON, May 31

A public meeting at Foxton addressed by Mr Nash M.l\, and others, decided to form a company of £30,000 to provide service between Wellington, Foxton and South Island ports. About 5000 shares have already been taken. Only one vessel has entered port since December last. It was pointed out sufficient freight was offering to keep several vessels in regular service. The Harbour Board dredge is to start operations at once to facilitate shipping.

A SUICIDE. W AIM ATE, May 31. Hans Christian Meyer, single, about 40 suicided in a hut at Waimate settlement, two miles from here last night. He blew his head off. He was fouled so this morning.
