tUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION. PROPOSED NEW COMMONWEALTH. ALL AMERICAN POSSESSIONS. - WASHINGTON, May 24. Th 0 establishment of a confederation of British-American countries, to include all the British Colonies, the Bahamas,- Barba,does, Bermuda, Jamaica, | eeward Islands, Trinidad, Windward Islands and possibly British Guiana, is reported here to b«? under consideration. The British Dominion possessions North, South and Central America are to be united into a Commonwealth named British America. This is th e latest development of the union begun Iby the Canadian Federation in 1867. of British possessions in America attended a conference at Ottawa last year, when a iw'c agreement was made. It is planned to con vert this agreement into a political union. ALLIED DEBTS TO AMERICA. WASHINGTON, May 24. The 17.5. Authorites have explained that the administration plans to convert the Allies’ war debts to the United States directly into the hands of the American people. It is proposed to replace the Liberty bonds as they mature, bv bonds of the foreign Governments owing to the United States.
