POLLARD’S PICTURES.
GRAND DOUBLE STAR PROGRAMME, MONDAY.
On Monday next Pollards are presenting a double star attraction headed by a Hanna all-British production “The Great Impostor,” featuring Bernard Dudley and Marie Blanche, the story of three modern Musketeers, an imposture that won a fortune and a lovely girl—and. forgiveness. He was only a sailor —and love caught him in its silken toils—the lovely girl he worshipped silently was above him in station—how could he win her affection? Temptation was deftly dangled before his eyes —at the hand of an unscrupulous rascal. It' lie would pose as the long lost son of Lord Selington, be would be received with jov and the path to happiness would lie open to him. “The Great Impostor” is a refreshing change from the tawdry stories of dance-halls, the problem films, the sex situations we have been having. It is truly British in sbntiment and setting, being in parts quite Dickensian. It will make you feel glad that you’re a Briton—and it lacks nothing in the way of acting or production; both are of a high standard. The second big feature is a First National comedy drama entitled “In Search of a Sinner,” starring popular Connie Talmadge. This is what it’s made of: Winsome widow, free at last; handsome hero, apparently fast; lively, naughty, poppy, spice, silks, ’n satins, ’n everything nice.
