Carpentier will not commence active training for a week, alter which he will be doing mainly road work. His sparring partners'are Joe Janette and Paul Journee, the French heavyweight. Dempsey is already boxing with Leo Houch, Jack Clifford, Jack Remould, Alex Trambites. While the public regards Carpentier’s chances as slender, he is the sentimental favourite.
