ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. A BUTTER TONE. (By Telegraph.—Special to Guardian.) CHRISTCHURCH, May 19. Messrs Matson and Co. report as follows regarding their stock sale yesterday Store Sheep—A small yarding and the demand all round was generally better, especially forward wethers, which sold to 15/7 for good sorts; others 10/to 13/G. Very few lambs were offered and they were mostly of inferior quality. Any good sorts were firm but others were hard to quit. A few extra good sold to 13/7, others 5/6 to 7/9; zest ewes to 14/3, others 8/9 to 12/-. Store Cattle—A medium yarding most ly 'non-descript lots, but included some excellent Hereford suckers. Any good fresh and forward cattle were slightly better, but others wero hard to sell. 3 and 4 years old bullocks .£5/15/-, to £6/10/-, 18 month and 2 year old £2/10/- to £3/17/6; heifers £3/10/- to £4 cows best. £3 to £4/5/-; others 75/- to 35/-; yearlings 15/- to 30/-, Hereford yearlings suckers passed at £3/10 and £4/7/6, extra good stuff. Beef—Another largo yarding and the market again was easier especially for inferior quality, which was decidedly worse and towards the end of the sa’e was hard to quit at any price. One or two lines of West Coast cattle was yarded which were sold at market rates. Prime steers £l3 to £l6/5/-; medium £lO/10/- to £l2/15/-; others £5/5/- upwards. Heifers best to £l3/10/-, prime £6/10/- to £10; medium £4/15/- to £6 others £B/10/- to £4/10/-; best cows £6 to £lO/15/-; one extra good one £ls/10/others £2/15/- to £5/10/-. Mutton—A smaller yarding and the market generally was firmer all round. Some excellent (quality was yarded. Best wethers 23/- to 27/-, prime 18/6 to 22/6; others 16/- to 18/-; lighter 14'to 15/6; best ewes to 19/2; prime 13/6 to 16/6; medium 11/- to'l2/9; others 6'9 ’to 10/6. Lambs were about the same but certainly show a firming tendency.
