- ATTEMPT ON GREENWOOD. LONDON, May L 5. There was an attempt to murder the Irish Chief Secretary, Sir Hamar Greenwood. Some rebels lired a volley into a motor car, but Greenwood was hot inside. The driver narrowly escaped. CONFLICT’S IN IRELAND. LONDON, May 15. Many outrage.- occurred during the weekend in Ireland and England. A big force of Republicans attacked the police barracks in Clonakilty, Bandon and Courtmacherry (Cork), simultaneously. Fighting at Bandon was particularly severe.
