POLLARD’S PICTURES. WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY. On Wednesday and Thursday next l’ollards are screening two big displays. On Wednesday the star drama is a World Film production starring Edythe Sterling in “The Arizona Cat Claw”. A Cat Claw is n plant that grows in Arizona—one of those nice, prickly ones that are hardly safe to handle. That’s why they called her the “Cat Claw. ’ She could bite and scratch. .She could also ride anything that ran on four legs, and could shoot the eye out of a needle—and woe to the foolhardy man who crossed her path. Now. come along and meet “The Arizona Cat Claw” Claw?—you bet she can! Fight?—just wait till you see her! Ride?—Ben P'e ley couldn’t show her any points. In any case Edythe—l suppose she's reply Edith, hut her press agent likes that better—is noted international equestrienne. Shoot?—she’s a female Bill Hart. On Thursday a big Universal Feature will be screened entitled “The Flame of Youth” starring Jack Mulhall, a story of youthful love and adventure.
McLEAN’S PICTURES. “THE FIGHTING CHANCE” TO-NIGHT. Mr McLean presents to-night a Paramount Artcraft picture of Robert W. Chambers greatest novel, “The Fightin Chance.” with Anna Q. Nilsson, Conrad Nagel and Mrs Wallace Reid in the loading roles. Two young people—a man and a woman—were horn with an hereditary taint in their blood which led them on and on, stifling and entailing all other hopes or desires. Each went their separate, reckless way until —love intervened. Then came the fight, the fearful struggle for supremacy over their craving, with only a “lighting chance” of winning, hut with love staking all on that chance. See them win gloriously. See. the internationally famous “Submarine Kiss.” Thousands have read and been thrilled by the greatest of Chambers’ novels. Millions will now see tho living, pulsing. tense pict urisntion of it and be more thrilled, for it is one of the most lavishly dramatic productions of tho year. An attractive comedy, scenic and full orchestra accompaniments complete a fine programme.
