HUMAN GORILLA.
NEW YORK, March 12 A young Negro, described by the newspapers as a “human gorilla,” has confessed that, maddened by some poisonous concoction sold him in a low saloon as gin, he murdered Miss Edith Wilson, a pretty young church organist, whose body, mangled and torn to pieces as if. she had been the victim of a wild animal, was found 200 yards from her house in the little town of Perth Amboy, New Jersey, on Sunday morning. When the news of the Negro’s arrest t became known In the town the attitude j of the population grew so menacing that j the police took the man to New Brunswick, the county town, and the gaol in which he is confined is guarded by armed constabulary. To dispose of the case as quickly as possible the county sheriff summoned a special grand jury for a special session at the assize court. The Negro, a man of enormous strength, although only sft 4in, has the shoulders of a man a foot taller. He weighs 12 stone and has arms which hang to his knees. _____
