Messrs Wild and Bassett, who recently sold an Overland Four motor car to Mr M. Sullivan of Weheka, was advised yesterday by telegram from Weheka as follows:—“Very pleased with Overland car. Arrived here under own power. First car to reach this district. M. Sullivan.” This is tho first car to negotiate all the rivers from Christchurch to Weheka and back to Hokitika, under its own power, including those well known mountain torrents the Waiho and Waikukupa rivers. On tho return journey yesterday, Weheka was left at 1.20 p.m. and Hokitika was reached at 10.30 p.m. bringing as far south as Weheka within nine hours travel of Hokitika.
