General of Hospitals), visited the medioal and dental schools at Dunedin to i enquire into the conditions there and requests for considerable expenditure. ’ He reached certain conclusions regarding the claims of these schools in the : Otago University (or largo expenditure on new buildings. These will be submitted to Cabinet‘for special requisi- , tion. ROBBED IN VAIN. GISBORNE, May 9. Thieves last ni£ht visited Dunlop’s Butchery, at west end of Gisborne. They completely removed the safe con- ; tnining all the books, but no money was taken, ho having removed between ! two and three hundred pounds last i night. There is no trace of the safe. I
