POLLARD’S PICTURES.
’ TO-NIGHT.
To-night, Pollard’s are screening a First National drama entitled “ Even as Eve,”.starring Grace Darling and a very strong cast. The picture is taken from Robert W. Chambers’ popular novel “The Shining Band,” which has been read by thousands of people all over the [ world, and is one of the best stories by this popular author. “ The Colonel’s Lady and Judy O’Grady are sisters under their skin,” and that’s why “ Even as Eve,” the amazing drama of feminine wiles, and the way of a maid with a man, appeals to every woman. Paid the Prophet of “The Shin'-'” Land ” : “ Thy hair is of gold and very beautiful. So shall it be sheared to make thee ugly in the sight of man—for love is a sin and marriage a crime.” The picture is brimful of Very startling situations. There is every element of attraction in the short synopsis under these headings:—Mystery, the secret rites of “ The Shining Band ”; the secret papers ; the search for the treasure ; the mystery of tlie iron box ; the vanishing of $100,000; the heroine’s veiled past; the wife’s secret; the silent pact; the false prophet’s mission; the lost identity of the nobleman’s daughter; the light in the cave; the death grapple with a dog; the shot from ambush ; the trap for innocence ; the prophet’s revenge. On Wednesday next Pollards’ .are screening a World feature, “ The Praise Agent,” starring Dorothy Green and Arthur Ashley.
McLEAN’S PICTURES.
ROBERT WARWICK, TUESDAY
On Tuesday evening Mr McLean presentas an attractive programme headed by a picture, with a title to puzzle the most discerning person in “The Fourteenth man,” Robert Warwick is the man who portrays a part both thrilling and mysterious. The story deals with a man who flees from Scotland to America under tho delusion that he has committed a serious crinie. He is shadowed throughout by a Scotland Yard detective, but tbo reason will come as a very pleasant shock. The star lias the splendid support of Bobo Daniels, renewed for her work in Royalty Masterpieces; while another prominent member of the c.abt is Norman Selby, who as “Kid McCoy,” was light-weight champion of the world a few years ago. A fine supporting programme of graphic and comedy with full orchestra will also be given.
