MUNICIPAL ELECT IONS
CHRISTCHURCH, May 3. The counts in the City Council election were finished to-night when the remainder of the city Councillors were elected as follows:— Messrs McKellar Andrews, Mnnhire, and Williams (Citizens’ Association); Mrs lVicCombs (wife of Mr McCombs M.P.); Messrs H. Hunter and F. Cooke (J at hour); Mr Hervey (Independent).
The new Council thus comprises seven Citizens’ Association candidates, six Labourites and three Independents. The other Labourites are Mr Sullivan Mr Armstrong and Rev. Archer.
MARRIED WOMAN DROWNED. TTMARTJ, May 3. The body of Mrs Margaret Rennett, wife' of Ralph Rennett, motor mechanic, was found floating in the sea near the town to-day. At me inquest a verdict of found drowned was returned. There was no evidence to show how deceased got into the water. Deceased was 3-5 years of age, and was six monthout from her home in tflfww, She sujfwad from insomnia.
