During a demonstration at Tantah, a disorderly section attacked and drove back the police, who intervened. When the Governor appealed to the demonstrators to disperse, his motor-car was seized and burned and the Governor imprisoned in bis residence. The police reinforced, fired upon the mob killing two or three and wounding several. Egyptian troops were sent from Cairo to the scene.
