AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION. U.S. NAVAL BILL PASSED. NEW YORK, April 28. After defeating all disarmament proposals, the United States House has passed the Naval Bill by 217 votes to 15. The House has carried also a vote for 396,000,000 dollars for armaments. The Bill goes now to the Senate. OFF TO THE RACES.
RUSH FOR NEWMARKET. (Received This Day at 9.45 a.m.) LONDON, April 29. Owing to the fact that no extra trains were run to Newmarket, many thousands proceeded to the races in motor vehicles. The trek began yesterday. The King motored last evening. The road to Newmarket was crowded with vehicles of all descriptions from an early hour to-day. In a space of ten minutes six hundred cars, charabancs, army lorries and motor cycles were counted this morning. Even ambulances were employed.
