The right of intending passengers to a refund of the whole amount of a deposit on steamer passage money, on cancelling the hooking for a berth, was tho subject of the action in the Magistrate’s Court on Monday, when Robert Del) Hovell proceeded against the Levin Company ,agents of the Shaw Savill Line. Plaintiff paid £l7 l()s deposit, reserving a berth on the Arawa in December. It was alleged there was a distinct understanding that he should have the right to abandon the reservation of the berth with incurring liability on cancellation, plaintiff receiving £'lo.lDs. The action was taken t( recover the balance. tory of the discovery of a new comet by the Cape Town observer on March 13th. The placing is as follows: Right ascension. 20 hours 16 minutes; Declina tion, 10 deg., 20 min. ; south, within a degree of the third magnitude star Beta, Capricorn. The comet is invisible to the naked eye, hut should he easy to find with a telescope.
