SMALL STEAMER DAMAGED.
WELLINGTON, This Day. When the small steamer Huia was leaving Castled iff on Wednesday for Wellington, her stern hit the corner of a stone carrying barge which was berth ed at the wharf and damaged one of the steamer’s plates. As a hole two feet square, had been torn in the Hilia’s stern, it was considered advisable to put back to her berth. A new plate will he put in the vessel. The cargo of cheese and hides was not damaged.
