After a meeting of the Executive of the Miners Federation, Mr Hodges announced that reports from various districts show the men are standing hrni bv the principles of the national wages board pool. The offers by the Coal Owners have been discussed, but they do not convey anything more definite than already suggested by the president of the Mines Association. Our Executive does not propose to make any recommendation at to-morrow’s conference. -1 X t Mr Hodges added it is evident the owners have not yet got down to the basic facts, which will bring the parties together.
