The retiring Mayor, Mr J. McDairniid was re-elected to-day unopposed. Seventeen candidates were nominated for the 12 seats on the Borough Council. * For the Harbour Board Messrs R. Milligan, J. M. Brown, E. P. Lane, 0. J. Marshall. These were returned with out a contest. Messrs Andrew, Fraser, and J. 11. Milligan were returned to the Hospital Board without a contest.
