SUB-UNION MEETING. Tho weekly meeting of the Westland Sub-Union was held on Wednesday evening. The President, Mr F. McGregor, presiding. The following delegates were present. —T. Gilloly, D. R. Dowell, R. Moore, A. Cutbush, G. Maunder, J. J. Breeze, J. Willoughby, J. Hagar, A. and H. Seebeck, and W. Heenan, sec. Tho minutes of the precious meeting were read and confirmed.

Inward correspondence was read and received, and the outward corresponence appoved.

Mr E. Stoop, suh-Union delegate to W.C.R.U. wrote regretting his inability to attend meetings. It was resolved to ask Mr B. White to act as delegate.

Referees’ expenses for Saturday were passed for payment. A protest was handed in on the Ko-katahi-Kiwi match hv Die Kokatahi Club, protesting against the rulings of the referee. Tt was resolved that no action be taken; also that the protest was not in order, according to W.C. R.U. rules, as regards a deposit of 10s. Tho sub-Union resolved to uphold the referee, who was present and explained his actions.

On the motion of Mr Dowell it was resolved to draw tho public’s attention, that owing to the small amount received at the gates last Saturday, the price of admission will ho Is, and that each person as he pays at the gate will receive a badge.

It was resolved that no transfers he granted after April 30th. Tho sub-Union decided to call for nominations from junior teams for a competition for a banner, presented by tbe President. Nominations are to close this day week.

Messrs Cutbush, Maunder and A. and FT. Seebeck were appointed to meet Mr Saraty on Saturday, with a view to fixing rules to govern his cup. The fixtures drawn by the Committee lately were not correct, and last evening were re-drawn as from May 7th. Each team receives a bye in the first round.

Tbe sub-Union passed a hearty vote of thanks to Mr D. McLeod for re-ar-ranging the fixtures correctly | The Referees’ delegate, Mr A. Cutbush, submitted their report as follows: Referees for Saturday’s matches:— Kiwis v. Ross, on Cass Square; Mr M. Houston. Kokatahi v. Diggers, at Kokatahi ; Mr D. R. Dowell. Kumara, v. Excelsiors, at Kumara; Mr A- Cutbush. These referees wore approved bv the Union. Tho suh-Union called attention to the referees as to the conduct of an Excelsior player in calling out to the touch-line judge during the progress of a match. At the forthcoming annual meeting of the English Rugby Union, a proposal will ho submitted that the New Zealand, New Smith Wales and South African Unions each he represented on the Committee by representatives they to ho ineligible, however, for the Presidency Vice-Presidency, Treasureship, or to serve on tho Selection Committee.
