AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION. (Received this day at 11.30 a.m.) MELBOURNE, April 19. The N.Z. Tennis Association has notified the Tennis Association of Australia of its intention to withdraw from the latter body at the end of twelve months. It is explained that the effect of the withdrawal will be that the N.Z. Association will got one third of all net unapplied proceeds derived from the Davis Cup competitions. New Zealand for Davis Cup purposes will still remain a partner of Australia hut no longer will be entitled to claim tbnt any challenge round shall be placed in New Zealand or have any claim on the profits. Should New Zealand aim at ranking as an independent nation, capable of challenging for the Davis Cup, the existing regulations would require altering.
