ARAHUIIA FAT STOCK SALE. j Tho usual fortnightly fixture at the j above Yards was held yesterday, the yarding comprising 57 head of fatcattle about half in half. There was the usual attendance of buyers whose operations were again restricted m sympathy with the general fall in prices with the result that the lines cleared were in accord with tho last few sales held. , . Messrs Jeffries and Co. sold the following:- On account Mr W. H. Karnbach, 1 MU at £l2. 4 at £8 17s (>d. 4 at £8 2s <kl, 4 at £8 10s, 4 at 4*B ss, -1 •it £7 10s. On account Mr J. Diedrich jn,,/ 6 steers at £7 7s 6d, 4 heifers at £8 10s, 4 at £B, 4 at £7 10s, 2. at £6, and 3 at £7 7s 6d. On account of Messrs Cron, 1 cow at £8 17s 6d, 3 at £5, 16 heifers at £6. OKARITO-WATARO A SALE. Owing to the extreme weather conditions prevailing last Wednesday preventing the buyers and stock from reaching Cffirvno Forks, the Sale fixed to take place on that date (the 13th inst.) had to be abandoned and was held the following day at the Wataroa Yards when some 180 odd head of cattle all Herefords, were submitted to public competition. As tho day proved fine there was a good attendance of buyers from all parts of the district and competition was contrary to expectation spirited throughout tho Sale. The following lines were sold under the hammer. On account of Messrs Cron, 2 steers at £9 17s 6d, 12 at £9 12s 6d, 30 at £9 ss, 4 at £9, 12 at £8 12s 6d, 21 at £B, 10 at £7 10s, 8 heifers fit £6 12s 6d, 8 at £6 ss, 11 at £6, 10 at £5 7s 6cl, sat£s 7s 6d, sat £5, 1 cow at £5, a heifer at £5 9 at £7.

Messrs M. Houston and Co. report: — At the above yards yesterday our entry consisted of 111 sheep and lambs and 46 head' of fat cattle. The usual buyers were present, and the full yarding was cleared at prices on a par with those of last sale. Ox beef, of which there was only a limited supply, sold well at from 35s to 40s per hundred, FfeffP’r beef at 30s, and cow T beef about 22s 6d. Wo sold on account of J. Hart 25 lambs at 11s, 31 at 10s; on account of Wm Graham, 12 ewes at 15s 6d, 43 lambs at 12s; on account of Wm Hareourt 4 bullocks at £l2, 2 at £l3, 4 at £ll ss; on account of M. Patrick, 4 heifers at £9 ss, 3 cows and 1 heifer at £7 15s, 2 cows and 1 heifer at £B, 1 heifer and 1 cow at £7 15s, 1 heifer and 1 cow at £6 15s, 1 heifer and 1 cow at £7, 1 cow at £4, 1 heifer and 2 cows at £6, 1 heifer and 1 cow at £5 17s 6d, 1 heifer and 1 cow at £8 7s 6d, 1 cow at 06 l'2s 6d; on account A. Griffin 10 heifers and cows at £5 ss.
