Mr Clynes predicts that the miners will put up a bitter struggle as they regard the owners proposals as impossible. THE MINERS SORE. ;Received this day aL 1.30 p.m.) LONDON, April 17 The miners state they have finished with the railway men, and transporters and will never again work witii them. Feeling throughout the country is acute. In some eases the miners are threatening railway men with violence. Meanwhile, public opinion reflected in all the newspapers, excepting th e ultra Conservative, which are swfliging round, express nS strong belief that the miners should get considerably moie than the owners are offering. SETTLEMENT OFFER, LONDON', April 17. The Government proposals for a settlement of the coal dispute are still open. The owners are advertising thenoffer to their men.
