Mr Denis Heniry, Attorney-General for Ireland, said in reply to a question in the Hotwic of Commons that since January last 221 members of the Crown Forces have been arrested in Ireland for criminal offences. Of these 165 have been tried, and 124 have been convicted. Those including 12 men sentenced from three to ten years imprisonment. Ninety have been sentenced from six months to two years. Several more trials for murder are proceeding. MAYOR OF CORK. NEW YORK, April 14 Air O’Callaghan, Mayor of Cork, has announced that he will not leave the United States out of compliance with the Government ruling that his presence is undesirable. MORE SHOOTING.. (Received This Day at 8 a.m.) LONDON, April 14. Sir Arthur Vicars, formerly Ulster King of Arms, was shot dead at his re-’ sideiico in Listowel. His house was afterwards destroyed by fire. A tag attached to Vicars’ body was inscribed: “Traitors, beware; we never forget the 1.R.A.” (Received This Day at 8.30 a.m.) LONDON, April 15. Vicars, who had to resign as King of Anns after the theft of the Crown jewels from Dublin Castle in July, 1007, was taken from bed in bis dressing gown and murdered outside bis j house. Thirty armed men carried out the crime.
