Mr Thomas reports that the transporters and railwaymen’s rtepresentatives reached an agreement at Downing Street which had removed the question of the pumpmen. PUMP MEN RESUMING. \ LONDON, April 11. In consequence of the Miners’ Fechgf eration’s decision to resume pumping, the pumpmen in most of the areas have now resumed work. They are to be paid the old rates. They are not waiting for volunteers to replace them.

The South Wales field has been sav ed in the nick of time.

The police arrived too late, but they will prevent damage to machinery.
