During the week-end advantage was taken of the presence of Mr D. Panckhurst of Reefton in town to inspect the water supply reservoir, and the municipal swimming baths. Air Paiickhurst is an expert in concrete work, and his opinion in regard to the condition of the two containers should be valuable.
A written report is to be submitted to the Borough Council, but it is understood the municipal bath lias been condemned, the mixture with which the concrete work was made being too porous. The position in regard to the water supply reservoir is not so unsatisfactory, and ft is believed repair work will be possible. An overhaul of the line of race will be necessary also, as the quantity of water is not being received at the reservoir. With regard to the swimming bath it will probably be necessary to construct fresh walls and a new bottom within the present container, so that considerable expense will be involved. The full report will be awaited with interest. .Men!
