Three armed masked men hound and gagged a watchman in a large store formerly part of an aerodrome at Townmer, Newcastle, and set fire to the building, which was gutted. Several other incendiary lircs oc- ; curred in Northumberland. One destroyed haystacks used for pit ponies. There were also several attempts to wreck the telegraph wires. WOOL REALISATION. Newspaper cables from New Zealand report Air Massey is dissatisfied with the Imperial Goevrnment holding eight millions surplus as an offset to the losses on the realisation of the balance of the unsold wool. The Australian Press Association is authoritatively informed that it is impossible to distribute the profits before the ultimate losses are ascertained. New Zealand shared equally with Britain, the surplus of profits. Probably the individual balance will he insufficient to offset the anticipated losses on the unsold wool. Nevertheless, Britain does not propose to ask New Zealand to refund any part of the profits already received. FRENCH MINERS PAY. The failure which totals 20 million dollars, seriously endangers the country’s financial position.
