T() EX-SOLDIERS ON THE LAND
It is announced that some Indian pattern tents, 14ft by 14ft. in measurement, are available for side to returned soldiers who have settled on the land. Sides- will he conducted through Hie Commissioner of Crown Lands in the various hind districts, and all applications for tents must he made through local Crown Lands rangers (not to the Defence Department.) In the past tents have been repaired and overhauled, and sold at a uniform rate of £5 each. This practice is now to be discontinued, and tents will he sold unrepaired as under Class A. frequiring very minor repairs only), ui each; ( lass B. (repitiraMe by nonexperts), £3 each. Both classes ’of tents, it is stated, will he of good value for the prions charged, which include all carriage charges to the nearest station or wharf.
