VICE-RECTAL VISIT TO HOKITIKA

The general arrangements covering the visit of His Excellency Viscount .Jellicoe, Governor-General, to Hokitika on Saturday next, are now completed.
The Vice-regal party, which will include l.ady Jellicoe, and Hon Lucy Jellicoe, will arrive hero by car at 11 o’clock in the forenoon. The party w ill he met at Kaihinu, Arahura Road, by the head of local bodies, the Automo bile Association meeting for the occasion. The party will drive via Stafford Street and Revell Street to Keller s hotel (Weld street entrance) from the balcony of which the public present a tion of a loyal address will be made
A guard of honor will be furnmel by the Territorials and Senior Cadet? The Returned Soldiers will parade as also the veterans. The Municipal Bunc! has likewise been asked to attend. The school children will be marshalled under the teaching staffs and will sing naval choruses. For the convenience of southern school children the inward tr.i ’i from (Ross on Saturday morning wili he delayed about two hours. Dump the afternoon the children will be regaled with sweets and fruit on C's?. Square, where games etc. will be in progress.
A public luncheon to Their Excelle cics will take place at the S-uprmn-Hall at noon on Saturday next. The ladies' of the Overseas Club are in
charge of the catering and general arrangements on behalf of the local bodies.. Tickets of admission, 5/- each, may be procured from the Town Clerk up to Thursday next. The toast I is*; will be a brief one, but will include a speech from Admiral Jellicoe.
The afternoon will be devoted to ootor drive and include an inspection of the leviathan dredge at Rimu Flu. and also a motor trip to Lake Kauien, where afternoon tea will he served. During this trip the vice-regal party win puss through the townships of Rime. Woodstock and Kanieri.
Saturday nighl is- being reserved for the Returned Soldiers social at the Drill Shed in honor of the distinguisued visitors. The tickets for t.ns function are now on sale. The Royal orchestra will provide the music, and evervthinp will be done to make the gathering a pronounced success. The catering has been arranged for and will be supervised by the ladies of the Overseas Chile The vice-regal party will remain in Hokitika over Sunday, which will he quietly observed. Their Excellent im will attend divine Service’in the forenoon, and will be invited to take a motor* drive in the agricultural districts in the afternoon.
Early on Monday morning the party depart for Otira, en route for ClTrist(hurch.
