Kumagae has received a cable from Shimidsu stating the latter will he unable to come to the United States to compete in the Davis Cup contests. Kumagae is keenly disappointed as lit planned a partnership with Shimidsu in the National Doubles Championship, as well as the Davis Cup tournament. Kumagae has cabled the Japanese Tennis Club urging them to make strenuous efforts to get permission from Sliimidsu’s employers in Calcutta to give him leave.
