ADDINGTON STORK MARKET. MARKET DECIDEDLY EASIER. (By Telegraph.—Special to Guardian.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Messrs Matson and Co. report as follows regarding their stock sale yesterday : Store sheep.—A large yarding principally ewes. Tho general tone of tho market was decidedly easier for all classes. A large number of exceptionally good local ewes were offering, but only elicited poor competition. Rest S.M. ewes 10s to 16s (id; 4 and 6-tooth, 20s to 225; 2-tooth, best threequarter breds 20s to 255. One exceptionally tine line of 2-tooth halt-breed ewes realised 335. \ cry few wethers and lambs were offering and a very poor demand. Rest wethers, 10s Od to ]2s 4d; best lambs, ILs to 13s 9d; others, 0s to 9s Od. Taking the market all round, we must report u decidedly easier tone, and the prospectus as rotten.
Store cattle.- A very small yarding, mostly nondescript lots, and really no quotable lines were offering. Practically the only competition was for store cows which sold from 15s to 50s; best sorts from £3 to £4 ss; 18-mos. heifers £'j IDs to £3 15s; steers £2 15s to £3 17s (id. The demand was very dull. Reef. A smaller yarding than the last few sales, hut owing to butchers having good stocks on hand, the dennuid, except for best, sorts, was not very keen, consequently the market was easier all round. Prime steers £l4 5s to £l6 10s. One pen of exceptionally good steers realised £23: medium £ll 5s (o £l4; others £8 to £lO 15s; best heifers to £l2-10s; prime £8 to £ll 10s; others £4 7s (id to L'7 10s. Cows, in the same proportion. Mutton. A medium yarding and quite sufficient for butchers requirements. The market was decidedly easier hut still was generally above freezing prices, ns freezing buyers operated only sparingly. Rest wethers 20s (id to 235. 0110 pen of extra good sorts making 265; primp 16s to 20s; medium 12s (id to 15s (id; ewes, best 16s to 21s (id; prime, 12s 6d to 15s; others 5s to 11s 6d. Lambs were also easier.
