The autumn meeting of the Westland Racing Club held yesterday must hare been one of the most successful one day meetings the Club lias to its credit. The receipts generally were a record for the Club, the gates, totalisntor and lights giving returns which will constitute quite a record for a local single day meeting. As usual the Government derives a liberal share of the receipts, the taxation payable on the one day meeting yesterday amounting to £545 2s 2d. Despite this heavy impost, the meeting should show a credit balance in excess of that of last year, when the meeting disclosed a profit of about £250. The success of the two meetings held this season should encourage the Club to considerably increase the stakes for next year.
