LATE LOCALS.

Private word received from Napier yesterday announced the death of Mr Win. Barrett for many years carrying on business as chemist, in Christchurch hut recently removed to Napier. From what we learn deceased had a suddm seizure, death resulting almost immediately Mr Barrett was a native of Hokitika, and made many journeys to his native town during the Christmas seasons, and was deservedly popular :ml his sudden end will be deplored. Be leaves a wife, son and daughter; ako two brothers, one being Sergt. Thomas Barrett of Nelson, to whom we extend our sympathy in their sudden bereavement.
