Provisional results received by cable of the University examinations includt B.A. second section, A. J. Hnrrop. The writ in connexion with the Pate; by-election was issued oil Wednesday. Nominations will dose on April 4th, and the election will he held on April 13th. Dr Eva Day, daughter of Mr V. G. Day, S.M., lias taken up the position of house-surgeon in the Timaru Hospital. Tiie-Art Union dance in the Supreme Hall on Thursday evening promises to prove very successful. Excellent arrangements have been made and patrons on paying the admission fee will receive a gift of an art union ticket for the nugget of gold.
