DAMS CUP. IYSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION. NEW YORK, March 26. London cables report that Australasia may not be represented in the Davis Cup matches on the ground that Patterson and Wood are unable to make the journey to America and Brookes is unlike]v to lead a forlorn hope. The report that Australasia will not participate lias been received with the greatest surprise in tennis circles. It is pointed out that without the Australian pi ay el s the Davis Cup matches will be a farce. NEW YORK, March 23.
The United States Lawn Tennis Asi sociation has informed the challengers ' that the rr.d round of matches tor the t Davis Cup, if played in the United ! States, must be completed by July 9th. i Second round matches, wherever J*played, must be completed not later ■ than August 6th., third round matches ‘ n ot later than August 13tli and fourth ! ..ound matches not later than August | ]3b and fourth round matches not I later than August 20th.
