To-night Bollards are presenting an all British Hepworth Drama “Dick Carson wins Through” with an all-star British cast. A thrilling mystery and a. charming romance, interwoven in a plot that will keep you transfixed with expectation and interest. Which is tbe greater attribute—Character or Reputation? Reputation is iwliat people think of us.—Character is what God knows of us. Murder had been committed! Three glasses on a revolving table two contained innocuous liquor —-lint the other contained death—sudden, painless. One of the three intended suicide- but another knew bis intention. The table was revolved, unseen by the other two—a man got the poison inended for another—he died. Of the two who were left, which was the murderer? That was the scene she bad to reconstruct. One man was her husband, the other man she loved, and who loved her. One was. guilty—which was it ? Slowly she revolved the table and watched his eyes—would they betray him ?- Was that a flicker of fear, or was it the light ? She could scarcely breathe—so intense was tbe situation—surely everyone could hear the beating of her heart. Then—slowly, triumphantly, came the knowledge that she had won.—Ho had betrayed himself. He: was the murderer! Now, which was it I —the husband or the lover. ■

On Easter Monday Pollards are showing a tip-top holiday programme headed by the evergreen screen actress Clara. Kimball Young in “Cheating Cheaters.”

On Friday evening Air McLean presents a thrilling seven reel story of the great handcuff King, Houdini in “Terror Island”. The story shows that Harry Harper is the inventor of a submarine with which be plans to salvage the cargoes of sunken ships. A newspaper has carried an account of the invention. Beverley West, ward of Joe Mordaunt and his son. Guv. read the article. Beverley has just received a message from her father stating lie is a prisoner on a cannibal isle, and destined to die unless she delivers in person the pearl given liy her father who obtained it when be visited the island five years previously. In tbe ease with tbe pearl is a small chart showing the location of a sunken vessel with a valuable cargo aboard. Stella Mordaunt posing as Beverley West presents tbe chief with the pearl, and tbe natives decide to sacrifice her. Beverley appears and is recognised as AYest’s real daughter, th,. bonds are transferred to her and she is placed in an iron safe and thrown into the sen. Harper rescued he.r. Finding the treasure is safe, .apparently with Beverley, the Alordaimts prepare to dynamite it. Harper, lights the diver sent down and obtains the treasure himself. Returning to the island lie frightens the superstitious natives with tbe girl whom they thought dead, and ATr West is rescued.
