The whole matter was made a party one, and the real issues were never fairly discussed. Work at the Pukemiro Company’s mine also ceased at 2 p.m. on the same day. From a. similar cause the ftotowaru mine aas idle from 1 p.m. Work was resumed to-day. Tiie Uotowaru mine, however, was idle from I p.m. again. THE COAL OWNED S. WELLINGTON, March- 23. There is no change in the position recarding the coal mining trouble. The coal mine owners state an executive meeting of their Association will be called at the earliest possible date to consider the Miners’ Federation Secretary’s letter.
