Frazier and Bernhardt pleaded guilty to the hank robbery at Fitzrov, cabled on February 25th. Each were sentenced to live years.
CONTROL OF COAL. (Received This Day at 10.35 a.m.) SYDNEY, March 24
The Coal Owners’ deputation told .Mr Hughes that unless coal was decontrolled, it would mean a permanent loss of the South American trade and probably prejudice the New Zealand trade.
Mr Hughes replied that Government was eager to relinquish control of coal or any other commodity, as soon as possible. He added that New Zealand was entitled to fifty thousand tons monthly, after local requirements were satisfied.
