WASHINGTON, March 17 'The Australian Press Association learns that Mr Denby (naval secretary) has not definitely decided to send the American fleet to tour Australasia. Mr Daniels (ex-secretary), last autumn stated lie contemplated such tour, hut the defeat of President Wilson immediately put these plans in abeyance. Mr Denby, who himself plans a three weeks’ inspection tour of the fleet in the Pacific, is somewhat concerned over the cost of a. trip to Australasia. This statement was made in reply to reports from Paris that M. Viviani was coming to United States to suggest that America become a member of the league on the basis of elimination of Article 10.
