fAUSTRALIAN & N.z. CABLE ASSOCIATION] AUSTRALIA BEATS CANTERBURY. WIN BY SEVEN WICKETS. CHRISTCHURCH, March 14. Australia heat Canterbury by seven wickets. The weather and wicket were .perfect and the gate receipts totalled £132. Hansford who was a bit scratchy on Saturday treated the spectators to a fine display of all round batting and made the bawling look easy. Canterbury’s second innings was a disappointment. One or two got. out rather unluckily, but for the most part they were beaten by bowling of a class they were not accustomed to. Better, or more difficult, bowling than Ironmonger’s has rarely been sent at Lancaster Park. Blunt, Worker, Read and Patrick were the only players to make any sort of a stand. The Australians quickly rattled up the required 'runs. Scores: CANTER.BUBV—FIRST INNINGS. Blunt S. Ironmonger b. Lam par 1 SC Brosnnhan, 1.b.w.. b- Forsberg ... ■> Page e. Pel cl w b.
