Al 10 o’clock to-day the Maori construction gangs linked up all the sections on the AVairoa-AVaikokopu line between Tuhara and Nnhaka, a distance of twelve miles. With the exception of two bridges and some culverts, it is now ready for platelaying. Probably the gangs will now go on to other sections. Air Armstrong, C.K., and the Public AVorks staff deserve every credit for the expedition shown and ( also the Maori gangs on the line and construction work.

AUCKLAND, March LI An extensive series of thefts of benzine from A. S. Paterson and Co., Ltd’s oil bond store was revealed in the Police j Court during the hearing of chargesi against four men. The amount involved is over £295, the value of 221 tins. | .John 13 rum I Donovan, James Archer, Edward Clark, and George Porter were charged with having stolen 28 tins of benzine, valued at £2B 9s on March 8. Donovan, C lark and Archer wore also j charged with theft of 88 tins valued at j £B2 Us (id on January 19, and Donovan j between December and January, 1(50 ( tins, valued at £129 19s. There were five chrages. Clark and Archer were employed by firms as storemen. Accused pleaded» guilty and were committed for sentence. DUNEDIN WOOL SALES.
