j ho Committee met at the Club room at 8.30 o'clock. I’resent: —Messrs AV. K. Williams (Chair), J: J. Mclntosh, F. .McGregor, It. Whiley, M. Houston, W. Keller, IT. Rutland, J. Peake, T). .1, Evans and Dr. Teicheltnann. The minutes of the previous meeting were confirmed. The caretaker wrote acknowledgin'' grant of honua. A claim from the Income Tax Department for tax on (b henture interest paid, was referred to the Treasurer for adjustment with the debenture holders. The action of the speei.nl committee in arranging for contract work in regarrl to the training track now being constructed, was approved. Satisfaction was expressed at. the manner in which the contract work was proceeding, as also that carried out by the caretaker under day labor. Tt was resolved to arrange for the sanding of the track after the Faster rao 0 meeting. Various circulars were received from the X. Z. Racing Conference. The satisfactory adjustment of matters in connection with events on the Easter programme was approved. A decision as to racing dates for next season was deferred for a month. Mr D. J. Evans was nominated for one of the vacancies of the District Clubs on the Racing Conference; and Messrs W. E. Williams and I). •!. Fv.nns were nominated for two of the vacancies oil the District Racing Committee. A donation of Co os. was voted to the Westland Progress League. It was intimated that nominations for the Faster meeting would close on the 18th. inst., ami it was resolved to sell the rights to privileges, namely two publicans’ booths and a sweets stall, at II ii.in. on Monday, March 21. .Messrs F. Butler, W. Johnston, and V, W. M. Dollar were elected members of the Club, and it was resolved to ask l)r i> ll. •!■ aiinn to join the lion, surgeon staff of the Club.
A report was made as to the condition of matters at the course, everything- being in readiness for the approaching race meeting. It was resolved to ask th ( . ladies to take charge of the refreshment department ns heretofore. The usual charge for admission will be observed, one uniform price for all parts of the course. Ladies and returned soldiers will lie admitted free as usual. It was intimated that the Racing Commission might b ( > expected in the district at any time now and arrange-, incuts would he made for a visit to the
