Sensational reports of the spread ol anti-Soviet risings in Russia continue, but then; are obvious difficulties of gauging the real situation. Stockholm advices state the papers regard as a reliable fact that the Social revolutionaries hold Kronstadt, which is the centre of the revolutionary organisations. Many fleet commissaries wore arrested.

Messages from Moscow state the Soviet has started a reign of terror, mak ing wholesale arrests. .Jews fear a recurrence of Pogroms.

A message from Helsingfors states the aim of the insurrection is the establishment of the Constituent Assembly. The “Times’ ” Stockholm correspon‘dent states it is believed here on good authority that the Soviet still dominates the situation, and is strenuously making efforts to calm the populace and suppress risings. Workmen have returned to the factories under the control of the military. The Government have sent ten millions in gold abroad to buy foodstuffs, promising peasants they will not deprive them of corn. The revolutionary Kronstadt seamen threaten to march on Petrograd in procession. The ironclad Poteropaulov.sk guns will he trained on the city. An ice-breaker is preparing the way. Government has broken the railways and isolated Kronstadt.

Lenin and Trotsky have issued a manifesto to Bolshevik patriots calling on them to assist the Government in punishing the rebels, Kosloskv, an artillery commander, seized the fleet and arrested the commissary, and put the President of the Soviet Council in chains.

Reports front Viborg state a number of sailors landed at Kronstadt and occupiod a small part of Oranienbaum driv- 1 ing out the Bolsheviks. Another portion of the' fleet ascended the Neva and sailors landed at Petrograd and attacked the Reds. Many garrisons joined the sailors. Then the remainder of the Reds withdraw towards Gathehina where Trotsky and the chief Bolsiievik command are concentrating forces to march on Petrograd where extensive fires are reported.
