SHOOTING .

jBV TELEGRAPH PER PRESS ASSOCIATION] I TRENTIIAM, -March 7. Sunday’s weather was a tiling of moods, mist, rain and sunshine. As evening fell liea'vy intermittent showers alternated with violent squalls. These continued all night, and at daybreak it J seemed unlikely that shooting would . resume. At 7.30 tlie wind dropped, 1 however, and the rain lifted about seven, and there was promise of a fine , day. A start was made with the Wei- , lington match ten shots at 500 and 600 yards. Tlie ljglit was clear and the wind though inclined to fishtail vagaries, did not seem greatly to trouble the , first men down at 500 yards. Before nine o'clock, however, the wind increased and heavy rain squalls came on. The men ploughed on, though 1 targets were almost obliterated at times, till the Executive decided to recall the men as soon as one range was completed. Tlie camp drying rooms for soaked clothing were placed at the men’s disposal and if the weather clears, shooting will resume after lunch.
