LAND SALE

At Mt. Hercules yesterday Messrs W | Jeffries and Co .offered lln' various pioperties belonging to Mrs Johnstone and the Ferguson Bros, to public competi- j tion. In view of the fact that this property had been offered to the Government for Returned Soldiers, consider able interest was displayed in the sale, there being a large attendance of people present. The total area offered was 3,848 acres of Freehold and Leasehold Land and Runs No 13 and 55 situated in the Little Wanganui River. After ; reference had been made to the special , terms being offered and also to the var- i ious special conditions pertaining to certain leaseholds the sale commenced , with the offering of Lot No 4, which j comprised 47 acres of freehold and 245 peres renewable lease and known as th P Homestead Block, the improvements on which were estimated at £IBOO.
