LONDON, February 22 Both Turkish telegates submitted practically rebuttal statements embodying the principle that all countries inhabited by the Turks excluding those inhabited by Arab majorities should remain part of Turkey. The Turks are willing to concede the right of minorities and to give freedom to all nations regarding tlm navigation of the Dardanelles provided that thb Turkish sovereignty is not affected.
Mr Lloyd George replying said that general statements were all very well but the Conference required detailed information as to the changes demanded in the Sevres Treaty.
Sarnie .declared that his delegation objected to the clauses relating to Smyrna, Thrace and the neutral zone adjoining the Straits and also the military, economic and financial control. THE TURKS AGREE LONDON, Feb. 23. Tewfik Pasha’s address at the Conlerence showed that the two Turkish delegations are in agreement, except regarding the Armenian frontier. This is an important advance towards the reunion of the Turks. The reappearance of the Emir Feistd at the Confeence has irritated the French. Feisul addressed the Conference on behalf of the Arabs. The French declare it is impossible to work with him and urge Britain not to persist witty the enthronement of Feisul or his brother Abdullah.
TURKISH CLAIMS. 'i - (Received This Day at 9.45 am.' LONDON, February 23. A communique states Sarnie read a statement wherein the United Turkish delegation demand the 1913 frontiers in Asia Minor, the southern frontier to he fixed in agreement with the interested parties the separating territories inhabited by an Arab majority on the Fast frontier, to he the line between Turney and Armenia as fixed by the latest treaty between authorities at Angoria and Government of Erivnn. The Greeks to evacuate Smyrna, which will return to the full sovereignty of Turkey, freedom of Sheiks under Turkish sovereignty and withdrawal of foreign troops from Constantinople and Turkish territory after ratification of the Treaty and complete, financial and economic independence and mutual valuation of reparation damages.
