ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. A LARGE ENTRY. (By Telegraph.—Special to Guardian.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Messrs Matson and Co. report as follows regarding their slock sale yesterday:-
Reef.—An exrtra large yarding, including some of excellent quality. The market was decidedly easier all round, and showed a good decline on last week’s price. Best steers £22 to £24; prime £lB to £2l 10s- medium, £l4 to £l7 10s; others €9 to £l3 10s; heifers £l3 10s; others £8 do to £l2. Cows to £l3 Ids; others £7 os to £ll 10s. Store Cattle.—A small yarding and mostly nondescript lots and oddments, with really no quotable lines offered, hut the demand showed the same deckled indifference as the rest of the market.
Store Sheep.—Another large entry again, comprised mostly of lambs. The market throughout was much easier in sympathy with the sale of fat lambs and sheep. Best lambs 20 to 235; others from 15s (id to 20s ; inferior 10s (id to 13s <sd; best wethers to 25s fid; others, fine 20s to 235. Very few ewes were yarded, and no demand. Mutton.—Another large entry and too many for butchers Vequireinents. The market again showed a decided drop and even at the reduced prices freezing buyers showed apathy throughout and practically neglected ewes, which suffered considerably. Best wethers 31s to 33s 4d; prime 26s fid to 30s fid ; medium and inferior 22s 9d to 265; Lest ewes 2,5 s eto 29s lOd ; prime 20s fid to 24s fid; medium 17s fid to 20s; others Pis fid to IBs fid. Lambs also showed a proportionate drop.
