An official communique from Lahore states not less than sixty-seven Sikhs were killed in the Mamkana affray. Troops were withdrawn but a large police remains. Government will not retaliate, but will help in detecting and punishing the raiders. Government realises that a savage crime has been committed and is determined to do all it can do to bring the criminals to justice. Cosjsacks are maintaining excellent order in Teheran. Tlie bfizaars have reopened and the town is normal. The Shah received the leaders of the move ment, Riga Khan, Major Sailed Khan, and Sayedzia, editor of the newspaper Rouz. Cossacks arrested 8 prominent notables.
